Today is Reformation Day. 517 years ago today, Luther, nailed 95 theses on the door of All Saints Church in Wittenberg, Germany.

The door on which Luther nailed his 95 theses.

I am thankful for some of the legacy Luther and the other reformers left. One big part is that the Bible was made accessible to every believer in their own language. This way they could guard themselves against the false teachings that were floating around the Roman Catholic Church in their day (and the many false teachings floating around in our day).

But I don’t think the reformers went far enough. In fact, they even made matters worse in some areas. Luther’s pamphlet On The Jews and Their Lies would one day become a tool in the hands of Adolf Hitler to instigate Jew-hatred all through Germany and even beyond, to the point where the Holocaust could happen.

Instead of inciting antisemitism, Luther and the other reformers should have started a quest to recover the ancient paths of the early church before it broke away from its Hebrew roots in the 2nd and 3rd century, re-establishing the path to see Jew and non-Jew reconciled and united in Jesus / Yeshua.

For everything there is a time and a season. I believe what the reformers left untouched in their day, the Lord is restoring in our day. And this is the very thing the Lord has led me and our KNGDM Alliance team to touch, so the Lord can restore it in our generation, as we get ready for Jesus’ return!

Maranatha!
